Planetfinance: Providing Liquidity in Planet Pools

Planet Finance groups its liquidity pools within Blue Planet. Providers supply liquidity that supports token swaps and can earn trading fees and GAMMA incentives under the selected pool’s reward arrangements. The pooled assets and the incentive token have different roles, so a GAMMA reward balance alone does not show the liquidity position’s total return.

Pool Assets and Reward Tokens

The AQUA/WBNB pool pairs AQUA with WBNB on BNB Chain. GAMMA is separately documented as Planet’s incentive token; a pair label alone does not establish which incentives are allocated to that pool.

Holding AQUA gives exposure to the governance token. Providing liquidity creates liquidity-pool (LP) tokens for assets that support swaps. Planet’s documented app flow uses a connected wallet on BNB Smart Chain, a supported input token and BNB for gas. Select a pool, then choose the input token and amount through Transform. Wait for the contract approval to confirm before creating LP tokens; once received, deposit them into the pool. Active deposits appear in My Pools. Supplying assets to Green Planet belongs to the lending application. These are distinct uses of capital, even when they involve the same token.

Trading Fees and GAMMA Incentives

Trading fees come from swaps that use pool liquidity. GAMMA incentives add a separate reward component. Planet LPs use Planet’s own automated market maker, while boosted LPs aggregate pools from other protocols and convert the reward tokens earned there into GAMMA for depositors. Fee income therefore depends on trading activity, while the value of a GAMMA reward depends on both the number of tokens earned and their valuation price.

A fee amount and a GAMMA quantity need a common valuation unit before they can be combined. Neither figure captures changes in the value of the assets supplied to the pool.

GAMMA Staking and Reward Supply

Planet describes staking GAMMA in the Infinity Vault as a way to obtain GAMMA Boost APY across its pools and markets. Infinity Vault staking is separate from providing token liquidity. The GAMMA Infinity Vault documentation lists a 21-day standard unstaking period with a 1% fee and a 5% fee for instant unstaking; assets pending standard unstaking earn no GAMMA rewards. A reward boost does not establish the value of the underlying liquidity position.

The GAMMA token design sets a maximum supply of 100 million tokens. After initial distribution is complete, the design provides for GAMMA bought with protocol earnings to enter a reserve for further user incentives. The minting limit therefore does not, by itself, set an end date for pool rewards or establish an active allocation for a particular pool.

Hypothetical GAMMA Reward Valuation

A pool reward can fall in dollar value while its GAMMA quantity stays unchanged. All quantities and prices in this example are hypothetical.

Earned pool reward: 175 GAMMA. Valuation price: 0.045 USD per GAMMA. The calculation 175 * 0.045 = 7.875 gives a gross reward valuation of 7.875 USD.

If the valuation price falls to 0.025 USD per GAMMA while the reward quantity remains 175 GAMMA, the calculation becomes 175 * 0.025 = 4.375 . The reward valuation falls to 4.375 USD, a decrease of 3.50 USD despite an unchanged token count.

A return to 0.045 USD per GAMMA would restore the original reward valuation if all 175 GAMMA were still held. This is a price condition, with no implied recovery period. Trading-fee income, conversion costs and changes in the value of the pooled assets are outside this calculation.

Total Position Value

A positive GAMMA reward can coexist with a loss on the overall liquidity position. Total return depends on trading fees, the value of GAMMA incentives and gains or losses on the pooled assets, after applicable costs. A reward counter or advertised yield describes only part of that result.
